Casting Shop Ltd – You Ask, We Cast!

Casting Shop Ltd was established in 2006 with just two staff, now we are made up of nine team members including manager/director Ian Close.  Together we have over 140 years experience in the foundry industry and learning more everyday.

Here at Casting Shop Ltd, a foundry in Christchurch, we can assist you with one casting or 1000 castings using Green Sand, Resin Sand and Lost Wax/Investment casting methods.  The smallest casting weighing just 10gms.

We are able to pour various aluminiums, brasses, bronzes, cast irons, SG irons, steels and stainless steels and others besides.

Castings other people can't or won't make is a specialty of ours. We love to help customers with their casting requirements whether its a part for their vintage car or motorbike, traction engine or artwork together with castings for engineering, health, marine, meat, dairy, food and agriculture industries.

We utilise local pattern and die tool makers, heat treatment plants and machine shops, so in many cases we are able to assist you with your casting design from concept to completion in a confidential manner.

PLA and SLA prototype samples can be forwarded to us and converted to your metal of choice, in addition, if you have a drawing we are able to print your prototype and cast again in your metal of choice.

Should you have the misfortune to have a machine breakdown and a new part is needed urgently, please contact us and we can have your replacement part back to you as quick as possible.

Recycling is a huge part of how Casting Shop Ltd operates, making us both environmentally friendly and economically sustainable.  To further enhance our quality assurance program we are in the process of establishing a laboratory.

We have had the good fortune to establish contact with many companies in Australia and have successfully exported castings to them.  It seems that many of our castings, by way of our customers, have a value added component and subsequently find their way to overseas customers in various corners of the planet.

We have a shop in the front of the foundry in which we sell a full range of Streetware of the type you walk over and drive over.

You are welcome to visit our foundry or contact us at any time.
